CyberPower Monitored PDU (PDU31xxx)
PDU31xxx reads unit-level power data over the network without outlet switching: current, voltage, load and firmware information for the whole PDU, remotely and locally on the LCD readout. It sits between Basic and Switched in CyberPower’s tier structure, for racks that want visibility without remote control.

Which one should you choose?
Monitoring without switching is a deliberate middle ground
Some environments restrict remote power control for security or change-management reasons even when visibility is welcome. PDU31xxx gives the load data without the ability to remotely cycle power, which can be the right answer where switching would need a separate approval process anyway.
It shares its physical platform with PDU41xxx and PDU81xxx
PDU31001, PDU31002 and PDU31005 use the same chassis, plugs and outlet counts as their Switched and Switched Metered-by-Outlet counterparts. If requirements change later, the physical footprint and mounting do not need to be re-planned to move to a higher tier.
The multifunction LCD is useful even without networking
Even on a rack with no management network reachable, the local display still shows voltage, frequency, load and current, which is often enough for a technician’s first check without pulling out a laptop or a meter.
It shares its RJ45 serial port with the wider PowerPanel family
PDU31xxx can be managed locally over the same RJ45 serial connection used across CyberPower’s rack PDU range, so a technician already trained on the Switched or Switched Metered-by-Outlet tiers does not need to learn a separate tool for the Monitored tier.
Consider it a stepping stone, not a permanent ceiling
Because PDU31xxx shares its chassis with the Switched and Switched Metered-by-Outlet families, moving to remote control later does not mean re-cabling the rack. That makes Monitored a reasonable choice even when remote switching is only a possible future requirement rather than a current one.
Where it fits, and where it does not
Fits a rack where power visibility matters but remote outlet control is restricted or unnecessary. Does not fit a rack that needs remote reboot capability; see the Switched family for that.
