Rittal VX IT: 42U to 52U cabinets rated to 1200 kg
VX IT is Rittal’s 19-inch IT cabinet, available from 42U to 52U in 600 and 800 mm widths and 1000 and 1200 mm depths, with a static load rating of 1200 kg. The load figure is the reason it gets specified: it carries fully populated racks that lighter frames cannot. Variants are configured rather than picked from a short list, and codes such as 5309.116 and 5331.190 identify a specific build.

Which one should you choose?
The 1200 kg rating is the point
A 48U cabinet filled with 2U servers, batteries or a dense storage array gets heavy quickly, and many cabinets are rated well below what a full build actually weighs. If you are close to the limit, the rating decides the cabinet before any other criterion, and it also decides what the raised floor underneath has to be rated for.
52U where ceiling height allows
The 52U option buys ten more usable units than a 42U cabinet in the same footprint, which is real capacity in a room where floor area is fixed. The constraints are ceiling height, the clearance needed above the cabinet for cable trays, and whether your maintenance staff can reach the top units safely.
Configured, not catalogue-picked
This family is built from a configuration rather than chosen off a shelf: frame, doors, side panels, roof, cable management and mounting accessories are separate decisions. That produces a cabinet that matches the room exactly, and it also means the quote needs a complete requirement rather than a single model number.

Earthing and cable entry
On a heavy, fully populated cabinet the earthing arrangement and the cable entry points are specified rather than assumed. Top or bottom entry changes the tray design above the row and the brush strip specification. Confirm both with the electrical contractor before the cabinets are ordered.
