Server racks and data center cabinets
A server rack is a 19-inch mounting frame that fixes the width of every device in the room; what varies is height in rack units (U), external width, depth and load rating. We supply 24U to 52U cabinets in 600 and 800 mm widths and 1000 to 1200 mm depths, from bare frames to closed cabinets, aisle containment and self-contained micro data centre enclosures.

Which one should you choose?
How many U do you need?
Count the equipment, add the PDUs and patch panels, then add 25% for growth and cable management. 42U is the standard because it fits a 2 metre door; 45U and 48U buy space only if the ceiling and the doorway allow it. A wall-mounted 6U to 12U box is the right answer for a branch office, not a shrunken floor cabinet.
600 or 800 mm wide?
600 mm is enough for servers alone. Choose 800 mm when the cabinet carries network gear: the extra 200 mm becomes vertical cable management on both sides, which is the difference between a patchable cabinet and one nobody wants to touch after the first year.
How deep?
1000 mm suits most 2U servers plus rear cabling. Go to 1200 mm for deep storage chassis, rear-mounted PDUs and any equipment with cable arms. Measure the deepest device you own and add 150 mm: that number decides the aisle you will need in front of it.
Static load rating
A full rack of storage passes 1000 kg quickly. Frames are rated from roughly 1000 to 1600 kg static; check the rating against the populated weight and check the floor as well, because raised-floor tiles are usually the tighter limit.
Perforation and airflow
Front and rear doors should be at least 70–80% perforated for equipment cooled front-to-back. A glass door looks better and traps heat; specify it only for a display cabinet. Blanking panels in the empty U are not an accessory: without them hot air recirculates and inlet temperature climbs.
Single cabinet or a row?
Once there are more than four cabinets, baying kits, a shared plinth and hot- or cold-aisle containment start to matter more than the cabinet itself. Tell us the row layout at the quote stage and the containment is quoted with the frames rather than retrofitted later.
