Smart-UPS SRT and RT: 1 to 20 kVA, rack or tower
Smart-UPS SRT and RT cover 1 to 20 kVA in formats that convert between rack and tower orientation. This is the class that lives inside the cabinet it protects, fed from an ordinary socket circuit, and it is where most edge sites and single-cabinet rooms actually land. Above roughly 20 kVA the conversation moves to a floor-standing three-phase frame with its own switchgear.

Which one should you choose?
Rack or tower, and why it is one decision
The same unit mounts horizontally on rails or stands vertically beside a desk. That flexibility matters when a branch office has no cabinet today but will have one next year: buy once, reorient later, rather than replacing the unit when the room changes.
The 20 kVA threshold is real
Below it, a single-phase unit is fed from a normal circuit and installed by whoever installs the rack. Above it, you are into three-phase supply, dedicated switchgear and a separate battery cabinet. If your load is close to the line, resolve which side it falls on before comparing prices.
Runtime through extended battery packs
Autonomy in this class is extended with additional battery packs rather than a separate cabinet. Each pack occupies rack units, so count the U you are giving up before promising fifteen minutes at full load.
Network card is usually not standard
Monitoring in this class often requires a separate network management card, and it is the accessory most frequently forgotten at order stage. Adding it later means opening a live unit in a room that may have no second feed. Decide the monitoring requirement with the unit, not after it.
Where it fits, and where it does not
Fits an edge site, a branch office, a single communications cabinet or a small server room with a load under 20 kVA. Does not fit a data hall, and does not fit any installation that needs three-phase output or a maintenance bypass.
