Eaton wall-mounted ATS: 30 to 1000 A, automatic and manual
This enclosed, wall-mounted line spans 30 to 1000 A across automatic (ATVI/ATHI), manual (ATDH) and residential/light-commercial (CHGEN) tiers. It is aimed at a plant room or generator changeover role rather than a rack, with voltage selector options that let one physical unit cover multiple system voltages.

Source of the values: Eaton Wall-Mount Transfer Switches brochure (30–1000 A). ATVI/ATHI’s 30–1000 A range and automatic/manual/non-automatic tiers are documented from Eaton’s own brochure; ATDH and CHGEN share the same wall-mounted enclosed product family but their individual current rating was not confirmed. An en dash means the manufacturer does not publish that value in the source we hold; we do not fill it in with an estimate. Confirm every figure against the current manufacturer document before it is written into a contract.
The references we quote in this family are ATVI / ATHI, ATDH and CHGEN. Send us the load, the phase and the transfer requirement, and we will confirm availability and lead time.
Which one should you choose?
Automatic, manual and residential are three different buying decisions
ATVI/ATHI automatically switches on loss of the primary source; ATDH requires a person to operate the changeover; CHGEN targets the smaller residential/light-commercial end of the range. Match the tier to how the site is actually staffed and monitored, not just to the ampere rating needed.
The voltage selector is a genuine multi-region convenience
Eaton’s Multi-Tap and International Voltage Selector options let a single physical switch be configured for the correct system voltage on site rather than needing a region-specific SKU ordered in advance; useful for a distributor holding stock against orders from several countries.
1000 A is the ceiling for this enclosed line, not for Eaton’s whole ATS range
If a project needs more than 1000 A, this wall-mounted enclosed family is not the right page; that scale sits with the ATC-controlled panel-integrated controllers, sized against whatever breaker the switchgear design specifies. Confirm the actual load before assuming this line covers it.
A wall-mounted enclosure still needs a real installation survey
Even though this line is self-contained, the enclosure’s physical dimensions, wall-mounting hardware and cable entry points need to be checked against the actual plant room before ordering, the same way a panel-integrated system would be. Do not treat “wall-mounted” as meaning no site survey is needed.
Where it fits, and where it does not
Fits a plant room or generator changeover role needing a self-contained enclosed switch from 30 to 1000 A, with a choice of automatic, manual or residential-tier control. Does not fit a load above 1000 A or a rack-mounted role; see the ATC panel controllers or the rack ATS pages respectively.
What we need in order to quote it
- Load current needed, up to 1000 A
- Automatic, manual or residential-tier control
- System voltage, and whether a voltage selector is needed
- Whether the installation is genuinely wall-mounted plant-room scale
