Socomec ATyS p M: evolved power and genset management, 125 to 3200 A

ATyS p M is Socomec’s most fully-featured genset and power management transfer switch, sized across twelve standard steps from 125 A up to 3200 A. ATyS d p adds the same dual power supply concept for the control circuit found on the smaller ATyS d S.

Which one should you choose?

Twelve standard sizes means the current rating is rarely the limiting factor

With steps at 125, 160, 250, 400, 630, 800, 1000, 1250, 1600, 2000, 2500 and 3200 A, ATyS p M almost always has a size close to the actual load, which simplifies specification compared to a platform with only two or three discrete ratings.

“Evolved” management is the reason to pick p M over the simpler g M

Where ATyS g M covers straightforward genset management, ATyS p M is positioned for evolved genset management with more advanced control; the choice between the two families at overlapping current ratings should be driven by how much control sophistication the site’s generator setup actually needs.

ATyS d p’s dual supply protects against the same edge case as ATyS d S, at higher current

Just as with the smaller ATyS d S, the dual power supply on ATyS d p is about the control circuit’s own resilience, not the main load path. Specify it when the site has a documented history of control-power issues, not as a routine upgrade on every large order.

The control module’s display shows live voltage readings per phase, which lets commissioning staff confirm both sources are within range directly from the unit before relying on automatic transfer, rather than needing a separate meter for that initial check.

Where it fits, and where it does not

Fits a facility genset or power management role from 125 to 3200 A that needs more advanced control than the simpler ATyS g M offers. Does not fit a straightforward genset management need where g M is simpler and cheaper, and does not fit a load below 125 A; see the smaller ATyS M/S families.
