Huawei UPS5000-E: 30 to 800 kVA modular UPS
UPS5000-E is Huawei’s modular three-phase UPS covering 30 to 800 kVA in a single family. Capacity is added by inserting power modules into the frame, so one product line serves a small telecom room and a full data hall without changing platform. It is the widest single-family capacity span among the UPS brands we supply.

The 200-800 kVA datasheet publishes four cabinet sizes for six references without stating which applies to which; those cells are left blank rather than guessed. An en dash means the manufacturer does not publish that value; we do not fill it in with an estimate. Where it fits, and where it does not
The UPS5000-E covers two quite different installations under one family name. The 120 kVA frame with 30 kVA modules suits a computer room or a regional office where the load sits under about 120 kVA and the space is not a purpose built data hall. The 200 to 800 kVA frames use 50 kVA modules and belong in a hall with its own switchboard and cooling. Choosing between them is a room decision more than a load decision, because the larger frames need the floor area and the electrical infrastructure that go with them.
There is one exclusion worth stating plainly. Huawei records that this family does not support energy feedback loads, which covers lifts, medical CT scanners, semiconductor cutting machines and other motor loads driven by regenerative inverters. If any of those sit downstream, the answer is a different topology rather than a larger UPS. Tell us what the load actually is, not only how many kilovolt amperes it draws, and we will say so before a quote is issued rather than after commissioning.
Which one should you choose?
One family across a very wide band
Covering 30 to 800 kVA in one family has a practical consequence for a group that operates several sites: spares, training and monitoring stay common across all of them. If you run one room at 50 kVA and another at 500 kVA, standardising on a single platform is worth more than a small price difference per site.
Modular redundancy is cheaper here
In a modular frame, N+1 redundancy costs one additional power module rather than a second complete UPS. On a 300 kVA installation that is a materially different number from doubling the system. The limit is the frame rating: you cannot exceed what the cabinet is rated for, however many modules you have.
What decides the configuration
The load in kVA and its power factor, the redundancy level you want, the battery technology and the runtime. Frame sizes run 30, 40, 50, 75, 120, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 and 800 kVA, and the right frame is usually one step above the redundant load, not above the raw load.
Monitoring and integration
At this capacity range the UPS is normally expected to report into a building or data centre management system rather than only to a local display. Confirm which protocol your monitoring platform speaks before ordering, because the communication card is a configuration item and adding it later means opening a live unit.
Battery choice at each frame size
The same frame can be specified with different battery technologies, and that choice changes the footprint, the ventilation requirement and the replacement cycle more than it changes the UPS itself. Decide the battery at the same time as the frame, not after the electrical design is finished.
