xFusion FusionServer G5500/G8600/X6000: GPU and high-density servers

G5500 V7 is xFusion’s 4U dual-socket AI server, taking up to ten double-width GPU cards on 4th/5th generation Xeon Scalable with up to 2000 W hot-swap Platinum/Titanium power in N+N/N+M redundancy. G8600 V7 (8U) and X6000 V7 are positioned for higher GPU density and multi-node compute respectively, but were not confirmed in detail in the sources we checked.

Which one should you choose?

Ten double-width GPUs in 4U is high density, plan power accordingly

G5500 V7’s ten-GPU capacity in a 4U chassis is dense even by AI-server standards, and the configurable four hot-swap power modules with N+N/N+M redundancy reflect that; confirm the room’s power feed against the specific GPU model’s draw (a full ten-card configuration of high-power accelerators is a substantial load) before finalising the order.

G5500 V7 also takes standard PCIe cards and OCP NICs alongside its GPUs

Beyond the ten GPU slots, G5500 V7 has room for four standard PCIe cards and three OCP NICs, which matters for a training node that also needs high-throughput storage or network cards rather than dedicating every slot to GPUs alone.

G8600 V7 and X6000 V7 need a direct confirmation before they go into a quote

We confirmed only that G8600 V7 is an 8U GPU-dense platform and that X6000 V7 exists in xFusion’s line-up; detailed processor, memory and power figures for both were not in the sources checked for this page. Ask us to confirm the exact configuration with xFusion before quoting either.

Like the FusionServer rack family, this GPU line was formerly sold under the Huawei FusionServer name before the x86 server business was spun into the independent xFusion entity. Confirm with the customer that quoting under the current xFusion brand is acceptable before the proposal goes out.

Where it fits, and where it does not

Fits large-scale GPU training that needs high density in a 4U footprint (G5500 V7) with room for storage/network expansion alongside the GPUs. Does not fit a role needing G8600 V7 or X6000 V7’s exact configuration confirmed without asking; those two need direct confirmation with xFusion first.
